Samantha Porter and Kele Missal presented a nice paper on A Comparison of Methods for Creating 3D Models of Obsidian Artifacts at the 2016 CAA conference in Oslo, Norway. Their main thrust was in using photogrammetry and structured light scanning to create 3D models of obsidian artifacts, but they were nice enough to add some of my 3D RTI results to the presentation, along with pros and cons compared to the other techniques.
